Early Life
Paul Eugene Stambaugh was born on March 25th, 1917, and enlisted in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Stambaugh was 22 when the war started, and 24 when he enlisted. His father was Niles W Stambaugh, and his mother was Lillie Stambaugh. Paul had two brothers, Richard and Wilber, and a sister Elsie. The Stambaugh family lived a lower-middle class life with Niles working a manager job. Paul was married to Louella Fern Stambaugh.
The Attack on Pearl Harbor is what brought the us into WWII. This was the first time the US was attacked on its homeland since the Mexican American War.
The Stambaugh family is found in the 1940 census.
